Phoenix Contact release their 2nd generation TRIO power supplies at the Hannover Messe 2015

April 29th, 2015

The new generation of TRIO power supplies are over 40% smaller than the previous generation and among other new features that are now included as standard are the new tool free push-in connections which save on installation time. This series now has dynamic power reserve of 150% of the nominal current for 5 seconds.TRIO 2G

The robust electrical design of this range has a high dielectric strength on all single phase models up to 300VAC and the advanced design of the three phase models means that even if one phase on the input has a permanent failure then the unit will function as normal.

All models have a rugged mechanical design with a vibration resistance up to 4g and shock resistance up to 30g. Along with a high MTBF of up to 3.5 million hours.

The single phase range covers 24V from 3A up to 20A and the three phase range covers 24V from 5A up to 20A. Your advantages Save time and costs, thanks to the push-in connection and narrow design Increase system availability, thanks to dynamic boost with 150% of the nominal current for five seconds Maximum flexibility due to the extensive temperature range from -25°C to +70°C and device start up at -40°C

Your advantages:

  • Save time and costs, thanks to the push-in connection and narrow design
  • Increase system availability, thanks to dynamic boost with 150% of the nominal current for five seconds

PULS introduce two new 240W power supplies optimised for DC input voltages

March 12th, 2012

PULS have introduced two new QS10 models to their Dimension range (QS10.241-D1 and QS10.481-D1) which have been launched, which in addition to the standard AC input models are also specified for a wide nominal DC input range from DC 110-300V.
PULS QS10.241-D1 and QS10.481-D1
From a purely technical point of view, many AC power supplies can also accept DC input. From a safety point of view, this is not always possible without problems. Input stage components in particular such as the input fuse, must be approved for the entire DC range. If the input fuse is not designed for the full DC range, the electric arc might not be extinguished when the fuse blows. This can cause a serious risk of fire in the power supply. External DC-compatible fuses are no help here either, as there is a chance that the internal fuse may open earlier in the power supply than the external fuse.

Both new PULS power supplies, the QS10.241-D1 (24V, 10A) and the QS10.481-D1 (48V, 5A), have suitable fuses installed and are designed for the extended creepages and clearance requirements. They also have agency approved (UL and IEC) for an operational voltage from 88-375Vdc, which should not cause any problems when applying for approval for an entire system.

We have good stock of both models QS10.241-D1 and QS10.481-D1 and for short-form data on the units please click here: QS10.241-D1 and QS10.481-D1.
